| |  Starting his career in New York, Umberto opened his first salon in Beverly Hills in 1977. A second full-service salon opened in Beverly Hills soon after. In 1994, Umberto opened the U/Umberto LA Salon, a more affordable concept for the Beverly Hills adjacent/Los Angeles market. Today the world of Umberto encompasses 125 hairstylists, 20 manicurists, five make-up artists and three aestheticians working in over 34,000 square feet of Beverly Hill’s most exceptional beauty environments.
Known as a master cutter, Umberto also takes pride in having an encyclopedic knowledge of the chemistry of hair products and processes. Umberto has long been recognized by hair industry leaders for his expertise: he has served as National Style Director for Revlon’s Fermodyl Interactives line; his input is frequently sought when a beauty supplier is developing a new product or process; and he’s been a noted headliner at the most prestigious national conventions.
